GTA 6 pre-order: three essential checks before buying

Check platform and account region, edition and delivery format, plus bonus and refund terms before placing a GTA 6 pre-order.

Are GTA 6 pre-orders open?

Yes. Official GTA VI pre-orders are open for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar opened global pre-orders on 25 June 2026. As checked on 5 September 2026, Rockstar Support directs buyers to the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Rockstar Store. Availability, currency, tax, delivery, and platform terms can vary by country, so confirm the final first-party product page for your region.

Rockstar has announced Standard and Ultimate editions. Eligible pre-orders receive the Vintage Vice City Pack; eligible digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+. Pre-loading begins at local midnight on 12 November 2026, ahead of the announced 19 November release. There is no announced PC version or official PC pre-order path.

GTA 6 pre-order: three checks before paying

Before paying, check the platform and account region, the exact edition and delivery format, and the bonus and refund terms. These checks tell you whether the product should activate, what the official listing includes, and what options remain if your plans change.

A first-party “Pre-order” button is different from a retailer placeholder, reservation page, marketplace listing, or “notify me” form. Those other pages may be legitimate services, but they do not by themselves prove a Rockstar announcement, edition, price, bonus, or release date.

Check one: platform and account region

Confirm the console family before looking at bonuses. A PlayStation code does not become an Xbox purchase because a marketplace title uses a generic game image. Then confirm that the product region matches the region of the platform account that will redeem it.

Rockstar’s support page provides detailed PlayStation region groups and advises buying from a retailer in the country of your platform account. It describes Xbox code handling differently. Because those rules can be detailed, use the live support page rather than a copied list in a social post.

Check two: edition and delivery format

The Standard Edition includes the game. The Ultimate Edition includes the game and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Rockstar also says Standard owners can buy the upgrade separately after redeeming their game code, which means you do not need to treat the first checkout as an irreversible edition decision.

The announced physical version is a Standard Edition box containing a download code, not a disc. There is no physical Ultimate Edition in Rockstar’s current support information. Check three: bonus eligibility and refund terms

Eligible digital pre-orders and purchases before 20 November 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+ membership according to Rockstar. Physical pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack, but Rockstar’s physical list does not state the same GTA+ month. Do not assume two listings are identical because they share the same artwork.

Retailers and platform stores control payment timing, cancellation rules, and some delivery details. Save the product page, order confirmation, and receipt. If you use a third-party retailer, check whether it is authorized, when the code will be delivered, and how it handles a delayed or invalid code.

A safer GTA 6 pre-order process

  1. Start from Rockstar’s official product or support page.
  2. Choose your console and account region.
  3. Compare Standard with Ultimate in your own currency.
  4. Confirm whether the listing is digital or a code in a physical box.
  5. Read the exact pre-order bonus list and eligibility date.
  6. Check storage, download, and internet requirements on the platform page.
  7. Review cancellation and refund rules before authorizing payment.
  8. Keep the receipt and do not publish your redemption code.
