Rockstar’s 26-minute GTA 6 Extended Look is the most detailed official in-game presentation currently available. It shows story scenes, combat, police encounters, travel, open-world activity and time spent together across Leonida. It does not establish every mechanic viewers may infer from those scenes.
Quick answer: The Extended Look shows Jason and Lucia operating together and apart, several armed jobs, police pursuit and evasion, vehicles, a workout scene, an apparent spontaneous encounter and multiple Leonida settings. Rockstar calls the footage entirely in-game on PlayStation 5. This breakdown separates what the video visibly demonstrates from systems that are confirmed only in direct developer interviews and details that remain unknown.

What the GTA 6 Extended Look is
Rockstar published Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on 27 August 2026. The official presentation runs approximately 26 minutes and 48 seconds. Rockstar identifies it as in-game PlayStation 5 footage, making it the most detailed official in-game presentation currently available.
It is still an edited presentation. It moves between story sequences, open-world moments and action without publishing mission names, objectives, rewards or the final chronology. A moment appearing on screen confirms that Rockstar chose to show it in an in-game presentation; it does not by itself prove that the action is repeatable, optional or controlled by the player in every context.
Key gameplay information shown
A collection job becomes a task-force raid
SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL — 00:03–06:11: Jason and Lucia travel to the PTT YOUNGIN$ Compound to collect something for Boobie. The visit turns into a task-force raid, followed by interior movement, gunfire and an escape.
The sequence provides direct evidence of coordinated action, armed combat, moving through an interior and escaping under pressure. It does not publish a mission title, objective list, reward, branching outcome or the order in which this event occurs.
A quieter safehouse scene
SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL — 06:23–07:01: Jason and Lucia are together at a safehouse. Jason brings Lucia clothes and the pair discuss Brian and their next move.
This supports the story context that they share space and plan together. It does not prove a universal clothing-delivery system, a fixed safehouse inventory or every rule governing their homes. For the broader relationship evidence, see the Jason and Lucia story explainer.
Travel, roadside events and city movement
SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL — 08:14–13:05: The presentation cuts through road travel, urban movement, a police encounter and a phone conversation between Jason and Lucia while they are apart.
These scenes establish cars, roads, on-foot movement, police interaction and communication between the two leads. They do not reveal the complete traffic simulation, phone feature set or every condition under which the protagonists can meet or separate.
Work with Raul Bautista
SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL — 13:28–16:59: Jason and Lucia meet Raul Bautista, travel by car and become involved in a pursuit that includes police attention and an escape.
Raul is an officially named character, but the presentation does not supply a mission name, complete setup or final outcome. GGWaypoint therefore treats this as a shown story/action sequence rather than a published walkthrough.
Open-world time in Bayside
SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL — 17:02–18:25: The presentation moves into Bayside, shows a workout scene and then a live-stream-style roadside incident involving a vehicle trunk and approaching police.
The workout is more than background decoration because Rob Nelson later described gym training as a controlled activity in a direct Famitsu interview. The roadside event can safely be described as an event shown in the world. Whether every similar broadcast is repeatable, how often it occurs and what rewards it may offer remain unconfirmed.
A later job and coordinated attack
SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL — 19:04–25:40: Jason and Lucia meet another contact, move through an airport-related setting and later take part in a coordinated armed attack. The footage shows them separating within the sequence and acting toward the same objective.
The video supports coordinated action and character-specific movement inside this edited scene. Direct interviews add the wider system context: switching can be free in some situations and restricted or forced by the story in others. The footage alone does not establish those rules.
Jason and Lucia: together, apart and in control
The presentation repeatedly places Jason and Lucia together, then shows them communicating or moving separately. That visual evidence aligns with direct interviews in which Rockstar North Head of Development and Co-Studio Head Rob Nelson explained that the unselected character can follow their own schedule, the pair can reunite, and switching conditions vary with story and mission context.
Nelson also described the relationship as a separate system that can develop through time spent together. Direct interview examples include ordinary activities and crimes, but the interviews stop short of publishing affinity thresholds, permanent outcomes or an ending structure.
OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED: Jason and Lucia can spend time together, operate separately and develop their relationship through player activity. UNKNOWN / NOT CONFIRMED: exact thresholds, every consequence, permanent break points and ending outcomes.

Wanted and police evidence
The Extended Look shows police attention in several contexts: a task-force raid, a roadside stop, a pursuit and officers responding to an event. At 10:24–10:59, an officer questions the pair and reacts to what they are carrying. At 13:28–16:59, a vehicle sequence escalates into a pursuit and escape.
Those scenes prove police encounters and pursuit are present. The more detailed rules come from Nelson’s direct IGN and Famitsu interviews. He said a crime must be witnessed or an alarm triggered before authorities receive a report; police can know the vehicle and identify the pair; separating, changing vehicles or altering clothing can reduce recognition; and dense urban roads may make an on-foot escape useful.
OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED: witness/alarm reporting and identification/evasion factors. Source: direct developer interviews with Rob Nelson published by IGN and Famitsu. SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL: specific edited police encounters and pursuit scenes. UNKNOWN / NOT CONFIRMED: every star-level rule, response timer, search radius, AI behavior and final balance value.
For the full interview-backed evidence—and the distinction between an immediate police response and the separate Criminal Profile—see the GTA 6 wanted-system guide.
System-level wanted details are sourced to direct developer interviews rather than inferred from footage. Rockstar has still not published every star-level rule, response timer, search radius or final AI behavior.
Activities shown and described
The Extended Look includes a workout scene, time spent driving, and a live-stream-like roadside event. Direct developer interviews add activities such as pool, mini golf and kayaking as ways Jason and Lucia can spend time together. Famitsu also reports Nelson’s explanation that gym training is controlled by the player and can raise base fitness-related attributes.
The safe public treatment is therefore:
- OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED: pool, mini golf, kayaking and controlled gym training were described by Nelson in direct interviews.
- SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL: a workout scene and a spontaneous-looking roadside broadcast/event appear in the presentation.
- UNKNOWN / NOT CONFIRMED: complete activity lists, rewards, repeatability, progression trees, multiplayer use and whether every similar environmental scene is playable.
The expanded GTA 6 activities guide keeps those categories separate.

Vehicles and movement
Cars carry much of the Extended Look’s pace. The presentation shows road travel, pursuit, leaving a vehicle under pressure and moving on foot through interiors and outdoor spaces. It does not name every vehicle or publish handling statistics.
Nelson’s direct interviews provide firmer system detail. Certain parked cars can require progress and specific tools; a phone scanner can expose information such as locks, alarms, trackers and value; and stolen vehicles can have different access requirements. Police recognition can also be affected by vehicle changes.
These interview claims belong in the evergreen GTA 6 confirmed gameplay features guide. This article records where related actions appear in the August presentation.
World and locations
The Extended Look moves through dense urban roads, interior spaces, coastal travel and areas outside the city core. It names or shows specific story settings, including the PTT YOUNGIN$ Compound and Bayside, while the wider official GTA VI material establishes Leonida and its six named regional anchors.
The video is not a measured map. It does not establish exact distances, final boundaries, road order or the complete world footprint. Use the GTA 6 map guide for the official regional picture, and the Vice City source record for the city’s documented evidence.

Businesses and interiors: what the video can prove
The presentation shows multiple interiors and locations connected to story activity. That supports the narrow observation that Rockstar has built accessible interiors for the scenes shown.
It does not confirm that every visible building is enterable, that every business can be purchased, or that each interior remains freely accessible outside its scene. Named businesses in character or edition material likewise should not be relabeled as player-owned property without a source.
Details shown, but not confirmed as complete systems
The following observations are useful, but the Extended Look alone cannot establish their full rules:
- A character holds or uses an item: this does not publish the complete inventory system.
- A location contains equipment: this does not prove a repeatable player activity.
- A business appears in a scene: this does not confirm ownership or management.
- Jason and Lucia separate in an edited sequence: this does not define all switching restrictions.
- Police react to the pair: this does not reveal every wanted-level rule.
- An interior appears in a story scene: this does not make every building enterable.
- A vehicle appears clearly: this does not provide an official model name or final statistics.
What the Extended Look still does not confirm
Rockstar’s presentation does not provide:
- the full mission list or final story order;
- every enterable building or interior;
- a complete business-ownership or property-management system;
- the final map size, boundaries or exact geographic order;
- every wanted-level rule or NPC response value;
- the full weapon and vehicle rosters;
- activity rewards, repeatability or progression for every shown pastime;
- GTA Online or multiplayer launch details;
- PC-specific features or system requirements;
- Jason and Lucia’s final relationship outcome or the ending structure.
“Not confirmed” does not mean false. It means the reviewed official material and direct interviews do not yet establish the claim.
Official source and methodology
The primary source for every timestamp in this article is Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, published 27 August 2026. The presentation’s official English captions were used to verify dialogue timing. System details not established by the video are attributed to Rachel Weber’s direct IGN interview with Rob Nelson, published 27 August 2026, and Kontakao’s direct Famitsu interview with Rob Nelson, published 28 August 2026. Nelson is identified as Co-Studio Head at Rockstar North by IGN and as Head of Development and Co-Studio Head by Famitsu.
GGWaypoint uses four public evidence states: OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED, SHOWN IN OFFICIAL MATERIAL, EDITORIAL INTERPRETATION, and UNKNOWN / NOT CONFIRMED. We do not use leaked footage, fan reconstructions or third-party screenshots as proof.

Named services and companies in the presentation
The official sequence also names Megamundo, identifies Petra Navarro as its COO, and refers to Snapmatic in Lori’s social-profile context. The source-backed records preserve the exact scene boundaries without assuming broader business or app mechanics.
