Verified overview
The Leonida Keys are a tropical archipelago in Rockstar Games’ official Grand Theft Auto VI presentation and one of the named destinations across Leonida. Rockstar’s regional description emphasizes casual dress, busy bars and an easy pace beside waters it characterizes as both beautiful and dangerous. It does not state an exact direction or distance from Vice City.
The Keys also have a direct story connection through Jason Duval. Rockstar says Jason is based there, works for local drug runners, and stays at one of Brian Heder’s properties while helping with local shakedowns.
Geographic and regional context
Rockstar identifies the Keys as an archipelago, confirming a group of islands rather than a single district. Leonida Keys 01 shows a seaplane over water and, in Rockstar’s caption, a bridge carrying cars between two islands. Leonida Keys 03 shows the exterior of a populated beach bar, and Leonida Keys 04 shows two divers among coral, fish, an eel and a sea turtle. These are specific published scenes, not a finished navigation chart or proof of player-controlled activities.
The GTA 6 map guide places the Keys alongside the other named Leonida regions. The interactive location explorer shows their relationship at a reference level without claiming the final in-game scale.
Characters and operations connected to the Keys
- Jason Duval: based in the Keys and working for local drug runners after his time in the Army.
- Brian Heder: a veteran drug runner from the Keys’ smuggling history who still moves product through his boat yard. Rockstar separately says Brian provides Jason a place to stay in return for local shakedowns.
- Cal Hampton: Jason’s friend and another associate of Brian, presented as comfortable with a low-key local life.
Rockstar’s character profiles establish these relationships. They do not yet provide a complete organization chart, a list of missions, or the exact locations of every property.
Activities and features shown
Officially confirmed: Rockstar describes the archipelago’s waters and names its bars as part of the regional presentation. Brian’s profile connects his smuggling background to the Keys and says he still moves product through his boat yard, but it does not publish the yard’s exact map position.
Shown in official media: aircraft, a bridge, a beach-bar exterior, divers and aquatic life appear in the named Keys images above. Their presence does not by itself confirm piloting, diving, bar interaction, missions, rewards, enterable interiors or a property system.
Official appearances and map evidence
The Leonida Keys have a dedicated destination card, the named Leonida Keys Postcard, and six currently named screenshots in Rockstar’s media library. The wider people-and-places presentation separately connects the region to Jason, Brian and Cal Hampton.
For Rockstar’s separately presented urban destination, see the Vice City record. This comparison does not claim an exact direction or travel distance. The GTA 6 hub connects the locations to guides, characters and the wider database.
