GTA 6: the essential starter guide
Release information, the setting, the central characters and a sensible route through our coverage.

The short answer
Grand Theft Auto VI is Rockstar’s next GTA release, currently listed for 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its official introduction centres on Jason and Lucia in Leonida. This guide is a route into the information available now, not a hands-on review.
Start with what you need to know
- For timing and platform questions, use the release and platforms explainer.
- For where the story takes place, read the Leonida map guide.
- For the people involved, open the character directory.
- For edition decisions, work through the buying checklist.
You do not need to read every page in order. The hub is organized around questions so you can enter at the topic that matters to you and follow related references from there.
What the database can tell you
The database is a structured reference collection. Each record has a type, an evidence label, a fact-check date and a source link. It starts with named characters, destinations and edition items. A source confirming one fact does not automatically confirm everything else about that entry.
For example, naming a vehicle does not establish its maximum speed. Naming a region does not establish its complete road layout. Keeping those limits visible makes future updates easier to assess.
What we are not claiming
GGWaypoint has not played or benchmarked GTA 6 for this initial collection. We are not publishing fabricated mission steps, guaranteed money routes, exhaustive weapon rankings or secret locations. Those need direct evidence. A page that admits the limits of its source is more dependable than a complete-looking answer assembled from assumptions.
Keep dates and sources in view
Release information and storefront details can change. Use the fact-check date to judge the freshness of an article, then follow the official links if you are about to make a purchase or plan time off. If a detail conflicts with a current primary source, send us a correction so it can be reviewed.
Our editorial policy explains the difference between confirmed information, analysis and future testing.
